Felipe Massa Wins 2008 Bahrain GP
Felipe Massa led Kimi Raikkonen home to score a Ferrari one-two and, hopefully, quieted some of the criticism that the Italian press has been heaping on him following his poor start to the season.
Following the red cars, pole-sitter Robert Kubica and teammate Nick Heidfeld continued BMW's amazing start to the season and promoted them to first place in the Constructors' championship. For the last few years they have been "the best of the rest" but this year BMW is shaping up to be simply one of the best.
McLaren had a weekend they will want to forget... Lewis Hamilton qualified third but made a poor start and then dropped to last place when he had to pit to replace a front wing after running into the back of Fernando Alonso's Renault. He finally finished 13th, well out of the points. Heikki Kovalainen finished fifth to salvage a few points for the Woking team.

Kimi Raikkonen Wins 2008 Malaysian GP
Kimi Raikkonen won today's Grand Prix of Malaysia after his teammate Felipe Massa clipped a curb and spun off into the gravel on the 31st lap. Prior to this incident Massa had looked unstoppable, easily leading the field away from the pole and building up a comfortable cushion before Raikkonen got the better of him during their first pit stops.
Despite threats of rain throughout qualifying and the race itself the weather cooperated and stayed away until after the event was over. This and, perhaps, some more experience of cars without electronic driver aids made this weekend much less of a crashfest than last week's shambles in Australia.

Scuderia Toro Rosso For Sale
Scuderia Toro Rosso co-owner Dietrich Mateschitz has announced that he wants to sell the Formula 1 team after the 2008 season and before 2010. The new Concorde Agreement is expected to outlaw "customer cars" from 2010 onwards which would mean that STR could no longer use cars designed by Mateschitz's other team, Red Bull Racing, and would have to design and build their own cars from scratch.

Lewis Hamilton Wins 2008 Australian GP
Lewis Hamilton won today's Grand Prix of Australia with a determined drive from the pole and showed that he is ready to pick up where he left off last year.
The Australian event -- being the first of the year -- has become known for crashes, breakdowns and the safety-car as teams and drivers get used to their new rides and, even though it didn't rain this year, today did not disappoint. Only seven cars were still running as the checkered flag waived and, when Rubens Barrichello was later disqualified for leaving the pits against a red light, reigning World Champion Kimi Raikkonen was elevated to eighth and a single point even though he had retired several laps before the end. The standard ECU and lack of traction-control and engine-assisted-breaking seemed to have caught several drivers off-guard. We can only wait to see the mayhem when we have a wet race.
McLaren and BMW were expected to perform well and they did. Ferrari was also expected to perform well but they didn't. Williams surprised everyone with two drivers in the points -- including a third-place finish for Nico Rosberg -- and no one could have foreseen Sebastien Bourdais scoring two points for Scuderia Torro Rosso on his Formula 1 debut.
The first race of the season can hardly ever be used to predict what will happen in the coming months but, if the rest of the year is half as chaotic as today's race, then the eventual championship winner will have earned his crown and then some.

Kimi Raikkonen Wins 2007 Brazilian GP And The World Championship
Kimi Raikkonen won today's Brazilian Grand Prix and probably clinched the Drivers' World Championship. As with most of this season's results it will be up to the courts to finally decide who is actually the champion.
Going into the race the championship was Lewis Hamilton's to lose and, like a champ, he managed it. A fourth corner tussle with alleged McLaren teammate Fernando Alonso sent him wide and cost him a few places. On the next lap a temporary engine problem slowed his progress and dropped him to last of those still running. A spirited drive brought him back to seventh but he needed fifth or better to take the title.
There was apparently a discrepancy in the fuel temperature in the Williams and BMW cars. The race stewards allowed it to pass but McLaren has appealed, and why not? Everything else has been appealed this year... they have nothing to lose and, if they can get a few other drivers penalized, Hamilton still has a sniff at the title.
And so the most litigous season in memory still isn't over...

Kimi Raikkonen Wins 2007 Chinese GP
Kimi Raikkonen won today's Chinese Grand Prix after taking the lead from pole-sitter Lewis Hamilton as he tried to extend the life of his intermediate tyres on a drying track. Shortly afterwards Hamilton slid into a gravel trap at the entrance to pit lane as he finally decided to change to a new set of tyres.
Hamilton's mistake keeps the championship hopes of Raikkonen and Fernando Alonso alive.
